After the Storm: Exhausted, Grateful and a Mess

Gold pen and Set of journals with Today I am Grateful written on the front cover

In my last post, I was excited about Galentine’s Day but I had to cancel to prepare for Winter Storm 2021. My storm preparations went pretty smooth, but I was terrified while enduring all of the impacts from the snow/ice.

Although I was without power, freezing and had spotty cell service, I appreciate every person who checked on me via phone calls and texts. You all kept me together along with God and made me able to find a smile despite shivering under my layers of clothes and blankets. I was alone physically, but I felt all of the love.

Today, I cried a few times for the moments when I couldn’t afford to cry during this week. I also shed tears for every person beyond myself that was impacted. I also cried for those that lost their lives.

I’m exhausted and grateful in one breath. Simply put … I’m a mess.

I had hoped to move my pending post from ‘Draft’ to ‘Publish’ for this week. But, I’ll wait and take this time to finish gathering myself.

In the next few days, I look forward to returning with a new blog post.

Until then, take care and stay present in your life. Sending all of my love.

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Psalm 46:1 KJV
