Celebrating Small Victories in Your Life

From unexpected expenses to derailed plans, the happenings of life can easily make you feel like you’re not getting ahead. You may be doing all the right things to reach your goals. So, don’t let life’s drama make you believe that you’re not accomplishing anything. Today, I’m sharing how celebrating small victories in life may help keep you on track towards your goals.

Typically, the daily grind of working towards a goal never gets any applause until we finish. We never pause to celebrate the small victories. Most of the time, our focus is only on celebrating when we accomplish a large milestone.

It’s an easy trap that leads you to discount your hard work and give up when things go left.

First, your small wins deserve to be recognized by you. It’s not about anyone else validating your efforts or receiving positive feedback from outsiders.

By celebrating small victories, you are appreciating the work you have put in and displaying gratitude.

Celebrating Small Victories in Your Weekly or Daily Life

I know you’ve been consistently going after your goals. So, let’s look for some small wins in your daily or weekly habits.

If you use a daily or weekly checklist, look at every item that you completed and you’ll be amazed at how productive you really are.

Whether you finally mowed the lawn or submitted a business proposal, you’ve made progress on a goal that puts you closer to where you want to be.

Overall, your checklist helps you feel good about the positive actions that you have been taking.

Look for Small Wins In Your Results

On the other hand, we sometimes get good results but it’s not the exact thing we want. Small victories can usually unveil information to confirm you are on the right track.

For example, you’re trying to grow your followers on Instagram. You gained 0 followers for the week but one post got 12 saves. That’s great! Clearly, they like your content.

Here’s one that I’ve dealt with a few times: working out and the scale. We can workout daily, lose 10 pounds in a month and then quit because we didn’t lose 40 pounds.

Once again, the small win of losing 10 pounds or getting 12 IG saves shows you are on the right track. Something is working, but that message is so easily lost on us.

It’s not exactly what you want, but small wins deserve to be celebrated. Always feel pride in the good work that you do towards bettering yourself or your family.

Just celebrating small victories in your results can motivate you to keep going and chiseling away at your long term goals!

Celebrating Small Victories and Your Progress

Without a doubt, you should always feel good about your progress. But, you are often stuck looking at how far you have left to go.

Instead, keep a goals journal and document your small wins. You can then turn your attention there to maintain momentum and not cancel the entire endeavor.

Recently, I went through this same battle. I love my fixer upper home, but I wish I could just hire someone to make it my dream home.

That’s not in the cards at this time.

But, I started celebrating the small victories and felt a new appreciation for my home.

I celebrated getting a new hot water heater, taming my small yard and even installing new $20 “peel and stick” floors in the half bath.

If I hadn’t celebrated those wins, I think I may have tried to run away and ditch it all!

Go Forth and Celebrate

It’s always a good time to bask in that small victory feeling. Your rewards can be as simple as patting yourself on the back to enjoying an ice cream sundae at the park. It’s all up to you.

The most important thing is to show appreciation for your hard work so far and the blessings you’ve received.

Show gratitude each day for the things you have been able to accomplish so far, and the ability to pursue your goals.

You are valuable and worthy of all the good things. Keep doing the good work, keep building, and keep going.

By the way, I’m also celebrating a small win this week and I will share it with you very soon.
