As February continues to fly by, I’m taking this moment to say hello and send warm blessings to you all. I hope what I’m about to say makes sense. But, there’s too much and nothing going on all at the same time! I’m in the middle of still learning a new job, planning some home updates and caretaking while battling procrastination and overwhelm. If you’re juggling everything right now as well, I pray you give yourself some grace this month like I am doing.
Black History Month and Other Celebrations
First things first – Happy Black History month! As an African American, I’m very thankful for the sacrifices that were made and are being made for us. I’m also thankful that my parents consistently taught us about the contributions of black leaders, inventors, writers and more. It truly enhanced my enthusiasm for history!
This year I was also inspired to create a list of my fave products and resources for Black History month. You can take a look here!
Also, when I was shopping, I came across this t-shirt that really spoke to me. I bought it, of course and absolutely adore it!
As for Valentine’s Day, I don’t really keep up with it since I’m single. I went to Bible Study and then enjoyed a delicious meal with my family afterwards. It’s basically a regular day for me. However, I did have a small impromptu Galentine’s Day celebration that week and brought along these Sugarwish treats! My manager actually got each of us on the team a box so that was pretty cool!
Praising God
Since we’re in the second month, I’m happy to be improving at giving better praise to God. It’s my main focus for this year especially since everything is piling on. Taking a 5 minute praise break has unlocked much needed clarity and wisdom for certain situations. Everyday is not perfect and that’s very okay. It’s just important to give ourselves grace and not be so harsh.
While listening to a sermon this morning, I heard a scripture that really stood out to me. It was Daniel 3:17 KJV that reads “If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.” That reminder delighted my spirit in so many ways. God will make a way and we can rely on that alone.
Other Exciting News
Before I head out, here’s a quick note on my home update planning: I’m looking to do some small updates in my home. I’m saying small as in affordable, manageable and not overwhelming! Fortunately, I’ve been getting inspired by the home decor shared by some of my favorite Youtube creators. I really think I’m on the right track in my planning for this update. It’s an exciting decision and a very timely one!
By the way, do you have any favorite home decor channels on Youtube? Let me know in the comments!
May God continue to bless and keep you!
