Since the world needs all the positive energy available, I’m sharing a few ideas for random acts of kindness that you can do today!
A stranger recently blessed me through a random act of kindness. It made me realize how a small act could turn someone’s day around or even serve as confirmation to keep pushing forward!
It also made me eager to bless someone else, which I did the same day. So, let’s keep that positive energy flowing.
Check out some ideas below that you can do for others!
Random Acts of Kindness
It Can Be Simple
1. ) Call or text a friend/family member to find out how they are doing. You can even send a scripture ecard!
In this season, many of us know people who are facing a financial hardship, a recent layoff or the loss of a loved one.
This simple gesture can uplift their spirit and let them know someone is thinking about them.
It can also give them a chance to vocalize what is on their mind especially if they do not like to burden people with their problems.
2. ) Pay for a friend or family member’s grocery order and have it delivered to their home.
This may be a huge blessing for someone who is busy with kids, working from home or facing hardship.
3. ) Pay for the food/drink order of the car behind you in drive thru.
I mention this because it happened to me last week. Although my order was less than $5, it truly felt great that someone was moved to be kind to me. Priceless!

4. ) Gift a restaurant gift card to someone.
Bless someone with the opportunity to enjoy a delicious meal. You can buy one at your local restaurant to show support or at a retailer for the well-known eateries.
I once received a Cheesecake Factory gift card via text that my friend had purchased for me. It was such a delightful surprise.
Sometimes, you may even feel led to gift someone that you don’t even know! I remember buying a store gift card at the register and gifting it to the woman behind me in the checkout line.
You never know when you may be a blessing to someone!
Use What You Have to Bless Someone Else
5. ) Make a food donation to your local food pantry or food drive.
They truly appreciate every donated item. Even if you can only give one can of green beans, it could help create a meal for someone.
6. ) Just use your voice and speak kindly.
Maybe you don’t have any extra time or money to give. Tell someone, “Have a great day!” and you may be the positive difference in their day.
Show Genuine Appreciation for Others
7. ) Leave a larger tip for your waiter/waitress after receiving great service. This act of kindness can truly bless the recipient more than you will ever know.
8. ) Give glowing feedback about an employee that served or assisted you i.e. cashier, server, phone rep, etc. If they served you well, let them know and also let their manager know!
Recently, I was really happy with a phone rep’s helpful attitude and told him.
He then revealed that my compliment changed his mind about resigning and gave him hope that he could do the job! I also spoke with his manager and she was very happy to hear about the great experience he provided.
9.) Show gratitude for teamwork.
If you’re a business owner, manager or team leader, tell your team that you appreciate them and their contributions to the company. Positive feedback is pretty rewarding and can truly make the difference in a person’s work day.
10.) Treat Yourself.
Yes! Treat yourself since I also consider self care to be a random act of kindness.
You may spend many hours of your life putting others or even your work before yourself daily. You can buy yourself a tasty Starbucks drink, a new bath bomb set or a surprise bouquet of flowers. Simply divine!
