This post is all about not forcing things in life and to trust the process.
Life has its own flow of processes that are working together to help in creating the life that we seek.
However, we usually inject ourselves into the mix to speed the process up because we want it now and are tired of waiting. This usually results in further delays, dismissals, and sometimes flat out losses!
Along my journey, I’ve finally learned to trust the process and let go of controlling the outcome.
Ways to not Force Things and trust the process:
1. Seek Quiet Time
Finding a quiet area can allow you to simply exist without all of the demands that you are placing on yourself.
Ten minutes of absolute quiet without your phone, tv, or other people does the body good.
It allows you to actually become present and maybe hear the serenity of everything.
The bird that you never knew lived outside your window or the hum of the traffic three blocks away all lend to the fact that life is bigger and constantly in motion.
…Be still, and know that I am God…
Psalm 46:10 NIV
2. Journal
Journaling helps to clear the anxious thoughts and move them out of your space.
In my experience, I usually just write out everything that is on my mind, close the book and add no further thought to it.
If I only have a sheet of paper, I freely write it out, fold the paper up into a small square, and put it away.
I then feel lighter, clearer and actually able to feel hopeful again.
3. Pray
Praying also helps you realign with your goals.
You can pray to God and talk about the specific things that are wearing you down at the moment.
When I pray during times like these, I tell God about anything that I’m facing and still come from a place of being thankful.
For example, in my prayer I’ll say this and that is going on in my life and I am thankful that You hear me.
I come away from these emergency prayer sessions with a feeling of peace because I KNOW I was heard.
And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.
1 John 5:15
4. Meditate
Meditating upon a favorite scripture or a verse that fits your situation is pretty amazing and comforting.
By getting quiet and centering your mind, you can gain so much clarity and relief.
I’ve gained insights, inspired thoughts, and unlocked unctions that guided me to some great opportunities in my life!
5. Let It go and Refocus
Whenever you are divinely creating your life, trusting the process is important. You’ve got to trust that you’ve been clear in what you are seeking and simply let it go.
By trusting the process, you can place yourself in a better mindset to reduce doubt and stay aligned with your dreams.
As the old saying goes, a watched pot never boils.
So, turn your attention away from the problem, job status updates or pending prayers for a few hours.
For example, try putting your focus on activities that enrich you. You can do simple things like:
- taking a class for a new skill
- reading your bible or listening to a sermon
- going watch an outdoor movie with friends
- learning how to build something
- volunteering for an upcoming cause in your local area can do wonders
6. Trust the Process and Allow
By trusting the process and not forcing things to happen, you can allow things to come to pass naturally and arrive when you least expect it.
I also believe that you are able to get out of your own way by redirecting your energy to constructive things like journaling and prayer.
Remember that creation is a process that has been underway longer than any of us and just trust that the process is working it all out. You’ve got this!
Go ahead and get immersed in doing things you enjoy or simply loving the memories that you are creating. All of that laughter and good energy surely helps out!
Wishing you the best on your journey!
